BREAKING: We're suing ICE for unlawfully targeting and arresting people who show up to court for their immigration hearings.
I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE. This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined. It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.
Very striking how every right-wing conspiracy freakout was just a prophecy of what they planned on eventually doing - whether it was Jade Helm or FEMA camps, the moment they had the opportunity to make these imaginary monstrosities they came up with come to life, they did
Very happy to share the latest from my postdoc! 10 yrs of mouse social networks + 1.25 yrs of acoustic data ➡️ insight into vocalization & sociality in a wild population of your favorite lab model 🐁 paper: bit.ly/4n93yyD data: bit.ly/4lfFBEk code: bit.ly/4kNnMwx #bioacoustics #neuroskyence 1/8
It is actually nuts that even when the NYC political establishment was presented with a broad field of talented candidates w/ many ideas, in a time of generational change & anti-corruption, they STILL chose to line up behind scandal-ridden Andrew Cuomo. It’s cowardice.
These militarist ICE raids are the actual government oppression that right wingers dreamed was happening during Covid. They are not up in arms like they were about masking, go figure.
We're suing the Trump administration over its politically-motivated termination of research grants that has already harmed scientists and our communities. Political ideology shouldn't dictate public health.

In a shocking turn of events, many of the people who said they wanted "free speech" actually just wanted to be the ones in charge of which speech is free.
UPDATE—Mahmoud's attorney says they do NOT know where he is. They were first told he was sent to an ICE facility in Elizabeth, NJ. But when his 8-month-pregnant wife tried to visit him, she was told he's not there. They've received reports he may be sent as far away as Louisiana.

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.
