New tutorial on a core CSS problem: Text classification often treats "is this valid" and "does this model work" as separate questions hurting measurement quality. We propose "computational social mixed methods" to unify annotation, ML & stats into one coherent pipeline: doi.org/10.3758/s134... 🧵
Here's my new blogpost on the dataset I have created alongside @ksolovev.com: we decided to solve the issue of data availability for research on news articles by processing, cleaning, tagging and indexing the whole news subset of the Common Crawl, resulting in cs2.uni-graz.at/blog/infini-...
How can we use computational methods to re-define psychological constructs? A team of researchers from the University of Jaén used my Construct Mining Pipeline to expand existing frameworks of job crafting - the way employees shape their work environment. Read more here: doi.org/10.1007/s111...

One way to deal with hate on social media is top-down moderation. Another option is counter speech, the collective moderation by citizens. A study of German Twitter from 2015–2019 identifies effective counter speech strategies—including sarcasm. In PNAS Nexus: https://ow.ly/csZK50XGteK
