I am the flogger of undead horses. Specifically Welsh, undead, yuletide ones that eat cake, toast and cider. Otherwise known as the mari lwyd! Everyone is welcome here!

I have been thinking about the kind of relationship I would like & it's basically hanging out & being very silly with someone about once a fortnight & the rest of the time they leave me to my books, cat & Strange Pictures. that's it.

No time to write anything, so please enjoy this tale of an artist who died 24 years ago today and was obsessed with death to the extent of doing hundreds of works on the subject, faking his own, and embalming a homeless man he’d befriended, who didn’t want “the authorities” to have his body

Robert Lenkiewicz: Larger than life and death

He had thousands of lovers, faked his own demise, and kept an embalmed corpse in his home. Yes, Robert Lenkiewicz was one of the great eccentrics – and now, prices for his paintings are soaring

I was really excited when I read this sign for Shellfish workshop. It said one was Dress a Lobster, and I had visions of putting one in a nice suit, with a little top hat. Then I remembered it was for people who are eating the lobster and I was sad.

Aldeburgh was the inspiration for Seaburgh. The Wyndham is a house James and his aunt visited, the white lion is the bear in a warning to the curious. The pump was installed by James' father and Martello Tower which features at the end of the story I think (light bad for photoing it)

Aldeburgh is a lovely place wish I could have spent more time there first here is the church, it contains John Piper glass for Benjamin Britten, A plaque to MR James' mum I think! A cat carving alas not a nod to James but a cat called Samson

An Illustrated News style image for each track, along with advertisements in the style of the period (all wording by Mr. Tom Templar). For the ads I had fun sourcing and adapting a range of public domain engraved illustrations. And an honour to be an answer in the crossword on page nine..!

Up early again to enjoy a couple of hours to add more light washes to the Mari Lwyd & various bookmarks. I’ve also made some watercolour backgrounds for the cyanotype prints I’ve made in the last few weeks.

Stylised Mari Lwyd & otter ink illustration with a bit more watercolour added this morning. I take forever to add light washes as I have the tendency to make it look like a rainbow has spewed on the paper if my enthusiasm gets over excited. The three stylised illustrated bookmarks - two Mari Lwyd with assorted flora & fauna, one field mouse sitting on stones surrounded by grasses. Again, more watercolour added to them in very light washes. Though these are probably nearly finished, save for the backgrounds of two… I might get the colouring pencils out at some point.5 various sizes of cyanotype prints that I’ve made this summer. The three smaller ones have been mounted onto watercoloured backgrounds - green/yellow/peach. All the prints have been mounted onto card stock & will be gifted for birthdays later on this month. The cyanotype prints feature ferns, cranesbill flowers, hydrangea flowers & daisies from my garden. One print also feature the profile of nextdoor’s cat. All cards are sitting on my table.
