I'm just going to say it... It's really spineless behavior that Dan Clancy wasn't the co-host with Mikey Minty. He's made his entire run as CEO by being front and center on every stream, but when the toughest announcement yet comes, he throws Mary Kish under the bus.
Twitch isn't sure whether Amazon has used Twitch creator VODs prior to today to train its AI models. The opt-out will apply to your previous and future content, so it will not be used to train future models.
Twitch isn't making Gen AI training *opt-in* because no one would voluntarily choose to opt in. Instead, they are offering an opt-out option.
I’m extremely disappointed and annoyed by Twitch to do GenAI training. I don’t know that I’ll leave the platform yet, but I do encourage people to stop giving them money through subs & bits. Support your favorite creators through ko-fi or other 3rd party tipping options.

Adding GenAI to everything and not telling you in hopes you don't turn it off is for sure a great sign that everyone likes it and it's a totally valid business and not a scam.

Your voice matters and you should feel good that you made a difference. Obviously, the fight isn't over, but this was an important victory.
