Wayne was my MA thesis and PhD dissertation adviser at Mizzou. He is kind, and good, and represents the best of what Mizzou is and has to offer. The Missouri state law that seeks to criminalize even the discussion of DEI is shameful, and so are those who support it. abc17news.com/news/educati...

It is genuinely bonkers how early kids specialize these days. Went to a dance store for my daughter and they were a bit shocked that we were starting at her ripe old age of 8. Heaven forbid we let a kid dilly dally through their extracurriculars and determine their own interests!

Finally went through our back to school photos and this has me cracking up. The kids immediately started shouting “no bro, that’s AI”. It is not. Just our ridiculous dog.

Picture of a giant reddish coyote dog sitting down smiling at the camera.

Based on our GWAS of personality I have an academic/data driven reflection on new challenges to the environmental path from parental personality toe child personality. I could put it on my substack (bleg) or add to my near non existend blog, but I have no reach, anyone willing to let me guest blog?

Children's clothing, specifically girls clothing, is an excellent way to see what society thinks about gender roles. I swear that a couple of years ago it wasn't nearly this bad, but I am going mad searching for cheap tees that aren't exclusively baby animals, hearts, and about being sweet.

The thing is, these creators are not young. They're fully grown adults, often years into their careers, intending to reach other adults. So not knowing them is not a reflection of being "out of touch" w/the youth, but more that there is no "chronically online" monoculture. Anyway, 20/25 for me.

it’s that time of year again, Rolling Stone released their list of the top 25 content creators, which is actually a test of how old and out of touch you are… the lower your score, the more out of touch i’ve heard of 11 out of 25

Why, or even how, would we expect the universe to reflect the kind of society we desire or ought to live in? Human genetics in itself cannot validate our political or ethical views, or invalidate those of our opponents. We have to argue for those based on how they will affect our fellow humans.

“But of the millions of questions that remain about the biological nature of humans, race is not one that is particularly outstanding. Yet because of the social implications of politics, people, history, and power, it remains a defining topic of our age.”

I've been revisiting my 2021 book How to Argue With a Racist, in light of the Cofnas situation - i didn't name him or the scientifically illiterati with who he breaks bread. But I thought these sections from the end might be of interest.

A necessary listen from @socialistdogmom.bsky.social, esp for those unfamiliar w/these racists’ strategies and interacting w/them as if it’s earnest academic discourse. It is not. There are weaponizing academic ideals for more power & legitimacy to further their white supremacy world view.
