I love how Ace Combat on 3DS basically has the happy vs angry Kirby thing going on
Ace Combat on 3DS is really darn good. It's one I hadn't given a fair shake in the past but now that I've played through it I think it's amazing. Basically a remake of Ace Combat 2. Amazing music, visuals and fun missions. Alas, I also discovered that one of my New 3DS XLs had a bulging battery. :(
Quick messy test with composite video but it works! Thanks again @lostturntable.bsky.social
Thanks to the generosity of @lostturntable.bsky.social I finally obtained a WonderMega at an affordable price after searching for so long. He also shared his amazing vinyl collection which was simply staggering. Plus we had a great lunch. Thanks James.
Still working on my video! I decided to do a retrospective style piece specifically on the games I ignored in my AC7 video (Zero and onward). First 20 minutes talk about those games then I get into AC8 so it's taking some time! Hopefully finished soon.
The scenery of Ace Combat 8 is truly breathtaking when you take a moment to look closely at it. Just beautiful.
After a solid month of work, this is finally complete! I don't often take sponsored content but this was an exciting chance to speak with some legendary talent and showcase elements of its development! Give it a look!
Today on DF, a massive new video on STAR WARS: Galactic Racer as @dark1x.bsky.social talks to Fuse Games on the origins of the studio, the collaboration with Lucasfilm and interviews with all major departments on the making of the game: youtu.be/EIPgivtETng #sponsored

EG fell for it too. :( The Capcom presentation contains a slide with "AI世代のゲームエンジンへ" - the article omits the "へ", for one, but the issue is that while 世代 means 'generation', it's in the 'console generation' sense, not like GenAI. Without へ, translation software gets it totally wrong.
It’s been a crazy month for games with a huge range of killer titles but, man, Ace Combat 8 and Galactic Racer at the same time is so good. Both games encompass the things I love most in gaming and I feel fortunate to have each of them to enjoy.
Ochi san has been running a new podcast - but for the English version, he'd been using an AI dub to lack of confidence but I believed he could do it on his own. This week, he did! He ditched the AI and recorded the English version himself! Show him some love! podcasts.apple.com/ee/podcast/o...

Can confirm. Have played a LOT of this. It's absolutely wonderful. They made Star Wars + Motorstorm + Burnout with a unique story mode that is really genuinely new and interesting. Plus more classic modes.

Here’s a recomp project that deserves a look! Slop free goodness.
The first beta release of the MediEvil Recomp project is out now! This lets you play MediEvil with widescreen support, scaling aspect ratio, increased draw distance/render distance, increase FPS support, PGXP, Better Terrain, Frame Interpolation, and other things all natively running on your PC.
Well, finally getting back into things. A video I spent a solid month making is nearly finished and I'm diving into new projects. Ace Combat 8 is the first order of business - it'll arrive after the game is out but I need to talk about it! It's just that good.
I remain pretty bummed out by the state of decompilations, ports, FPGA cores etc these days. The rise of GenAI has really flooded the whole scene with garbage and kinda poisoned the whole concept. Good piece from @pandamonium.bsky.social on it www.segasaturnshiro.com/2026/09/24/c...

Some additional photos from today including a rather boroboro house which caught my eye
I finally met James yesterday and we had a great time retro game hunting. I then read this and, having gone through some difficult times in the past myself, it really hit home.

今日は神田と秋葉原の間にある「絶滅メディア博物館」っていうところに行ってきたんだけど、めっちゃよかったよ!なんて面白い場所なんだろうなあ!できればぜひ行ってみてください
Went out for some fresh air today with great friends. Also good food. We got rather lucky with the weather I think!
Great episode! Check it out

Yeah. They actually freaking did it. Half-Life Alyx running natively on the Frame. Very very cool to see.
Loved writing up this Half-Life: Alyx on Steam Frame chat between @dark1x.bsky.social and Valve's Robin Walker and Autumn Ashton. www.digitalfoundry.net/features/por...
One thing I do like in this game is the abundance of breakable objects. It makes the decent combat feel more interesting and fierce for sure.
With all the blue trails talk in Wolverine, I think it’s worth showing an example. It’s used to represent smell in select instances like this. However, it’s not a GPS trail - you’ll note it lingers in a specific area but doesn’t actually direct you. Also, waypoint markers are optional and off here.
