I know my desert friends are probably giggling but… DAMN IT.

As you can probably tell I no longer go back and correct typos. Eff it. 😝
San Juan Bautista feels more like “old California” than any other town I know in the state
Eating lunch Jardines in San Juan Bautista and, “¡Mira! ¡El pájaro es un ladrón!”
My experience today at the Eugene O’Neill house was profoundly poignant. In my youth I wanted to emulate him but then in my 40s I changed my course and now looking back at my life nearing age 70 I’m deeply grateful for the person I became and that I did not follow his tormented and tragic path.
Driving along the coast on Highway one today south from Gualala to San Francisco was a foggy treat. I took about 175 Images with the trusty Nikon. Let’s hope I can salvage 6 or 7. 🤞
Today is an important day for me because I am visiting Eugene O’Neills Tao House. O’Neill is my lifelong favorite playwright. His play, Long Day’s Journey Into Night, is my favorite and he wrote it and Iceman Cometh at the Tao House. O’Neill had lived in 35 places before he found his “true” home.
Not braggin’ or nuthin but yesterday I drove over the Sonora Pass to the Sonoma Coast and got 47.7 miles per gallon in the new car. Hehe

I met an elderly nun tonight on my walk to the sea. She was sitting on a bench - said she sits here each night and prays. We had a fine talk about pelicans, the Pacific Ocean, California and Hwy 1 She ended our conversation by saying, “thank you - I see you also appreciate the great mystery.” 😢
Off on a 5 day mini road trip today. Highway 395, 108, 120, 24, 116, 1 (but not Big Sur 😢) and good old 101 - El Camino Real. Photos? Maybe some… Rest? Definitely

The cyclospora outbreak has reached 13,895 cases across 47 states. The FDA has recalled 1.6 million eggs due to salmonella contamination. Screwworm cases continue to rise. And we’ve just surpassed 2,500 measles cases — breaking 2025’s record. “Make America Healthy Again.”
I know there's not a person alive who has any sympathy for the Dodgers, but man, this team looks like there's just a ton of holes maybe it won't matter if the Voltron rotation takes over in Oct. But people are going to be stunned if they get bounced early, and don't say you couldn't see it coming.
Lisa and I woke up about 4:45 this morning in order to get ready and head out to a lake about 25 minutes from us. We were hoping to get some fog but were completely satisfied with low clouds. I don't use any programs to get the painted effect, but about 95% of the appearance is in-camera. Enjoy!
So - I know that they ruined baseball but the LA Dodgers look weak and vulnerable and old. Maybe they’ll get hot in September - I’ll be rooting them on in Cincy then but… We shall see what happens in October — however I’m not feeling too optimistic about their chances.
Is it just me or do today’s announcers have absolutely no idea the difference between a pop-up and a fly ball? The Dodgers Joe Davis calls fly balls “Popups” CONSTANTLY. Seriously- he’ll say the batter popped it up and the outfielder will be 10 feet from the warning track. That is a FLY BALL.
Sunday #ParkChat We do not have a chat this Wednesday but we will be chatting the week of the 26th with @yellowstonenpgeek.bsky.social. Meanwhile I’d encourage everyone to encourage everyone to express their opinion to the Administration about the unnecessary destruction occurring at Big Bend NP.
I saw Tommy John pitch many games at Dodger Stadium both pre and post his famous surgery. And here’s the thing - not only was he a terrific pitcher - he was always a class act. Always. Sorry he’s gone…
Just finished Breaking Bad for the second time. How in the world did I have so much sympathy for Walt's character the first time I watched?!
