One of the great benefits of man made art, is how it positively alters our outlook. Example: Ever since I discovered Ivan Shishkin, I look at trees differently. I go «oh, that is a tree he’d enjoy.» I can only aspire to have that impact on others.

Tim Curry's reading of the Sabriel series is probably my favorite audiobook? Most libraries will have it available, I think! He had wonderful material to work with (I really like this series), and his reading really transported me.

Wild Tulips: my new seamless repeating pattern. Inspired by some wild tulips I saw on my walk to work one day. They're dramatic, beautiful flowers. I'm studying Arts and Crafts style pattern structures and I'm in love. #patterndesign
A pair of recently fledged Red-tailed Hawks. These two were flapping and exploring the branches around the nest. The day after these photos were taken, the nest was empty. Now they are off exploring the woods, still being fed by their parents while they learn to hunt.

We sat on the deck tonight with a glass of wine and listened to all the spring voices. Parkas and tuques notwithstanding, it was amazing 😊 So here’s a quilt of birds in honor of spring. Pattern is “Feathers”. Make all the fiddly beaks at once and then it’s OK.
