I was proud to partner with Now Included to create a moving and urgent documentary about Houston’s Fifth Ward Cancer Cluster. While serving on city council, I helped bring together experts & stakeholders to address community health concerns & bring free cancer screenings to the Fifth Ward.

Had a great evening earlier this week at the CyTom Democrats' monthly meeting. The momentum in that room was amazing, with hands-on training in carpool canvassing, phone banking, postcarding, voter registration, and poll worker applications. This is what building a movement looks like.

Trump's executive order splits the MMR shot into doses that aren't even available in the U.S. right now. Parents are being handed guidance they can't follow. Every child deserves protection from a disease we already know how to stop.

Georgia Provost was a mentor to me. She built Provost Studios into an institution that photographed generations of Black Houston and blazed a trail for women who own their own businesses. My prayers are with her family, the Third Ward community, and all who knew and loved Georgia Provost.

Wonderful to be in the room last night with so many Harris County and statewide leaders who are ready to fight for a future our families can afford.

I've been all across Harris County this week listening, learning, and showing up for the communities I'm ready to serve. From sitting down with AFSCME members to joining the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and much more, every conversation this week has reminded me why this race is so important.

I had a wonderful time last night joining the Houston LGBTQ+ Caucus for a powerful conversation about the future of our community. Grateful for the warm welcome, conversations like last night's remind me how much is at stake in November and what is possible when we fight together.
