Unless these people have committed serious crimes (which would have been an acceptable reason to revoke their freedom of movement as stated in Art. 45.3 of TFEU) it's difficult to see the Swedish authorities doing this for reasons other than bringing the immigration numbers down.

We’re not asking for exceptional treatment. Treating people properly who made a life abroad before Brexit isn’t exceptional. It’s normal and reasonable. The minimum that can be done. And as for solving 90-in-180-day problem will help millions of people. That’s a good thing.

I think it’s time to be a lot more direct and blunt about the 90-in-180-day problem and the problems post Brexit with EES and people mobility in Europe. People should complain about the 90-in-180-day problem. As loudly as possible! 💥 📣 This is how we make the case for better people mobility. Without people getting enthusiastic about international mobility again, it will not be possible to rejoin the single Market or EU. It’s a vital part of it.

Our campaign asks for 1. Protection under withdrawal agreement (or similar) for everyone living lawfully in Spain part-year before Brexit. 2. UK passport holders to be admitted visa free for up to six months every time they visit Spain irrespective of time in other countries.
