The British government admits it is now monitoring VPNs use by UK residents. Regulator Ofcom has contracted with an AI-powered surveillance service to detect the number of citizens using VPNs to evade the Online Safety Act. The UK tech minister has said a VPN ban is on the table.

Any other UK folks working in tech fields in a union? If so which one? I'm finally pulling my finger out and joining one after telling others to join one for years. It'll probably be unite as they've seemed pretty good and they cover a lot of fields but I'm curious if anyone is in any other ones.

@wotcmatt.bsky.social or other rules folks, got a niche question that shouldn't come up but I can't find a concrete answer for. A creature with a card Ciphered to them deals damage to an opp and the cipher trigger goes on the stack, opp responds to remove the creature. Do they still get the spell?

Every Harry Potter book or shirt you buy directly funds the persecution of trans people. There's absolutely no excuse to support anything Harry Potter anymore unless you hate trans people.

Post a ship that isn't Star Wars or Star Trek I'll be cheeky and post 2 of my favourites. The cylindrical world ship of Clarke's Rendezvous with Rama captured my mind as a teen, and the Thargoid ships of Elite Dangerous are beautiful and terrifying in equal measure.
