Yesterday I spent time at Wightwick Manor and Gardens and saw the exhibition The Rossettis: Siblings and Spouses. It inspired me to re-read some Christina Rossetti poetry today, and I found a perfect poem for the last day of August about swallows starting their journey south for the winter.

There are moments when words become more than words—they become fires for the cold, ropes for the lost, and something as necessary as bread. Mary Oliver reminds us that poetry asks for vision, faith, and a willingness to see what words can make possible. Who is your favourite poet?
