Honestly, one of the best feelings in the world is hearing a kid patient say "I hate doctors" when you first see them and them being besties with you at the end of the visit
I don't know any ND person who would believe anything like that. The whole reason we are neuroDIVERGENT is because our brains are different from what is accepted as neurotypical or meeting societal expectations.
PTSD significantly co-occurs with ADHD … There are ongoing discussions / debates on how much the propensity for PTSD ADHDers have is due to an ADHDers divergent neurology and how much is due to … well … the lives that we experiences as ADHDers (being more prone to Traumatizing experiences)
It’s clearly a combination of the two … it’s just uncertain how much (overall, in general) is Column A and how much is Column B

ADHD executive dysfunction feels like a hole opens up in your brain and swallows your thinking parts. PTSD dissociation feels like being behind a physiological veil. ADHD's brilliant new ideas are motivating. PTSD's urgent ideas to fix things are distressing and exhausting.
ADHD is how you function neurologically. It is you. It can be debilitating but you wouldn't be without its postive attributes. PTSD is something that happened to you and hurt you neurologically. It's unpredictable, overwhelming, and you want it to go away.

They had a sliding scale so it was $300 total. A student did all my testing but it was recorded and their advisor (educational psychologist) signed off on everything

YES! We also need to do a better job of LETTING THE FOLKS WHO NEED THIS MEDIATION HAVE THIS MEDICATION. It took 3+ yrs for my partner to find a doc to prescribe it and it's been life changing for all of us!
I got my ADHD diagnosis when I was in law school (in my 30s). Concerta at a good dose gave me palpitations… No one thought to ask what my caffeine intake was like at that point in my life 😂

Thinking more about my ADHD diagnosis and realizing I've gone my entire life without being medicated and self medicating with my caffeine addiction. I can only imagine the things I would have done if I had proper treatment earlier. We really do need better screening and education for ADHD & autism

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare says they didn't name two dairies potentially linked to the outbreak “because this is a potential risk for any raw milk producer.”

NORTHERN LIGHTS are possible THURSDAY NIGHT after sunset thanks to some big solar flares in the past 24 hours. Lots of northern states will have a good look. I'm not sure if it'll be as impressive as the events from 2024 where southern states (like Texas) saw it.
