I have a fig tree and recently learned you can make tea and syrup from the leaves. Tried it this weekend, and wow—it’s amazing! The flavor is surprisingly vanilla-like. Mixed with seltzer it makes an incredible soda, and it’s fantastic in coffee too. Definitely making this again!

Sadly, Oliver Tree did not reveal his death was all a hoax during his Celebration Of Life event tonight. He is truly gone.

Just tried a cheesesteak at a local bar in Johnstown called Murphys. Was the best cheesesteak I’ve had here but that’s a super low bar. Most cheesesteaks in the area are best filed in the trash.

So PROF, an independent rapper, just sold 30k physical copies of his new album Good Time Boy then got disqualified from the billboard charts. The music industry is a wild place!! But tbh not sure if 30k is a lot of sales in charting terms. I like the album tho!!

Having a fun time with my garden this year. Started some seeds inside and then also sowed some right into the ground. The plants I started inside are looking great but the seeds in the ground haven’t sprouted yet. My goal is to feed my tortoises only what I grow from my garden.

To work in the yard or go for a walk. That is the question I don’t want to answer.

Ever have a moment where you type a word and it looks crazy wrong? “twelve” is that word for me today. Also I once completely forgot how to spell “who” once while filling out paperwork for a job at the interview. This was before cellphones so I couldn’t even look it up. Fun times!!

Just finished AtomFall. It’s a good game. Strong in storyline but weak in combat, enemies, weapons, & items but overall it was a fun game that I’m glad I played. It’s like Fallout light.

Just made a dish using up a bunch of different leftovers. May I present to you Pizza Pudding. Soaked a bunch of old bread in seasoned milk & egg. Topped with cheese and chipotle tomato sauce. Pieces of chicken & meatballs were mixed in. Then baked. Looks mild, flavors wild!

I miss when the internet had those goofy, shared moments—planking, Harlem Shake, Pokémon Go—where everyone seemed in on the joke. I never joined, but it was fun to watch ppl enjoying the moment. Does that still happen, or am I just missing it now?

Just made a meatball sub for lunch. I used my homemade meatballs & chipotle tomato sauce. Came out fantastic! I used a trick I learned from a restaurant in Hampden Baltimore called Luigi’s where they hollow out the end of an Italian loaf to form a pocket that’s stuffed with meatballs sauce & cheese!

“I buy 10lb chicken thighs, roast them, shred the meat, and make stock from the bones. Use the stock for my dog’s food and freeze the meat for later. Asked ChatGPT for tips and it suggested simmering instead of roasting first.”

Last year I didn’t do shit with my garden/back yard besides aggressively trimming my wildly out of control blueberries. They are starting to look much better after three years of aggressive trimming. Next year I’ll be able to trim them normally. But I’m also planning a fun garden this year.

Had to be a part of a rescue mission tonight. Just got to the gym, phone starts going off, the camera in my tortoise enclosure showed me Bob was on his back. So had to dash right home. Big shout out to @lykik.bsky.social for driving the rescuemobile and saving him. Bob is doing good and all is well
