The "yuri is male gaze" debate becomes gut-bustingly hilarious once you realize that, more often than not, the genre is created by female mangaka sitting at their desks like:

🐯THIS IS SO EXCITING🐯 I can't believe we'll finally get a new Wing Commander release! I've been writing a retrospective on the Wing Commander series for years over at @hg101.bsky.social! My piece on WC3 was the longest, as I try to be a thorough researcher. Please check it out! bit.ly/maruwc3

"30th Anniversary of Wing Commander 3 is in the works. It'll contain the non-compressed original footage for the FMVs, EA still had the original tapes." Awesome! I just don't get why EA is releasing a 30th-anniversary edition of Wing Commander III when it'll actually be 32 years soon 🤭

Perfect time to follow @wcnews.com - the best source on anything Wing Commander. Their website is a gold mine, a lovingly curated virtual museum 👌

I just played Ultima Online for the first time in my life. I aimlessly wandered the playerless streets of Jhelom. I tamed a dog (BUNKUS) and two cats (CATULUS and CATTILA). CATTILA fell to a zombie attack. I lost CATULUS somewhere between Jhelom and Britain. I've never felt more alive.

I've put this off long enough. Because one post on machine translation and the devaluation of human labor wasn't enough, I wrote even more words about it than before (2900, to be precise), this time from one former fan translator to another. Or at least, some of you out there.

What's Not Yours Isn't Theirs, Either

On the disturbing rise of LLMs and machine translation post-editing in fan translations.

watching House helped me understand Utena's origins in avant-garde Japanese film and theatre SO much better. especially Utena's offbeat, often cruelly ironic, sense of humour~

House is so much god damn movie
