Debates Commission has cancelled the post-debate scrums after this English leaders debate. This cancellation follows an altercation prior to the debate involving Rebel News and other journalists. #elxn45

The @ecpr.bsky.social Gender Study 2024 just came in. I am shocked by the numbers. Especially dramatic is the percentage of women authors published in ECPR-journals: 26% in 2024, compared to 35% in 2023. Please, don't try to fix the women, fix the @##$! system.

I don't know how many political staffers are unionized, but I'd wager very few. I wish I would've had the knowledge I have now back when I worked at City Hall in Calgary.

SCOOP: Toronto city council staff will vote soon on unionizing with AMAPCEO. 60% of staffers — those who work for individual councillors and the mayor — have signed union cards, prompting a certification application with the Ontario Labour Relations Board. Vote expected next week.

Yeah I do think there's a strong argument to be made that if it's antidemocratic to prorogue right now, it's also antidemocratic to force Canadians into an election where they don't even know the name of who is leading one of the main parties they might vote for!

One thing I'd add: there's no 'constitutional principle' that the Liberal Party should be expected to self-immolate by jumping into an election with no leader. If you're assessing prorogation as about 'fair play', I don't see why the immediate context isn't relevant.
