Later on, they'd start introducing more actual comic book characters, but I miss the first few seasons where it'd be like "Clark's nerdy classmate ate a meteorite chunk on purpose and now he's made of bees" or "The cute barista gained super speed when she put a CD in her car's stereo upside down"

Being a Smallville fan in the early years was fun. Each episode would end with someone being like "I can't do it all. I'm not a WONDER woman" or "We all have a DARK SIDE, Lex." Then we'd see Clark being sad in his barn and boom, "Everything" by Lifehouse kicks in.

I'm glad BTAS understood that Joker is most fun when he's deeply petty. His best stories are rarely "tries to destroy Gotham" but rather "gets mad that someone cut him off in traffic" or "wants to copyright fish" or "bombed during stand-up" or "a casino stole his likeness."
