Fictional kinks can't hurt me but a fascist regime very much can and will. If you genuinely think fictional content (yes, even the "too gross" ones) is WORSE than fascism, reprioritize your life. I can curate what fictional content I engage with. I can't content warning my way out of fascism lmfao

As expected seeing ppl backpedaling on the itch thing now that there's a list of the unacceptable content and it includes stuff that's "too gross" It's all of us or none of us. Our enemies have made that clear. I would rather work side by side with a freak than with a fascist.

Less than 24 hours after @acvalens.net broke this story, it was removed from the site following direct intervention from VICE’s owners, who were reportedly uncomfortable with the subject matter. Censoring a story on censorship is about as 2025 as it gets.

The censorship of 80+ games on Steam this week was apparently the work of Australian antiporn group Collective Shout, which partnered with US evangelicals to pressure Visa and Mastercard. They claimed, without evidence, that the games involved child abuse. Great work by @acvalens.net for VICE.

Revenue at Duolingo in 2024 was up 41% on 23 to $748M. Net income was up by 451% for same period and yet they're firing workers. We've long been at "insatiable greed" point of late stage capitalism. People may feel helpless but there's a very easy way to kick companies like this. Delete their apps.

I have completely deleted my Duolingo. I was informed by one of my kids that the company has removed most of its employees and 70% of the company is run by AI. I urge everyone to delete their app.

one of the heart breaking things about anti trans propaganda is how wildly effective it has been. Study after study pre 2017 showed the majority of people in the U.S. were generally positive on trans issues and happy to learn more. Jordan Peterson, JKR, Matt Walsh, all those freaks will burn in hell
