Something I think is useful to remember is that you don't have to do art for a living in order to be interested in art and pursue it as a personal hobby. I have never been employed full time as an artist and in some ways I feel like that produces a kind of healthier enthusiasm towards creativity

i'm legit almost angry at all the institutions that made people think their dream comic was unproduceable. Everything is produceable baby. The only limiter is how crazy you are

"So, Boum, how do you write dialogues for your graphic novels?" It's easy! First you write dialogues as a script. Then you modify the dialogues at the storyboard stage, then you modify them again at the pencilling stage, at the inking stage, at the colour stage, at the lettering stage, ...

How comics actually work: some pages take an hour and some pages take eight hours and they're not always the ones you'd think. There are sometimes entire weeks taken up by research that MUST be completed before you can progress. And you also must account for several days lost to the Horrors

its nice when your friends like your ocs but its sooooo beautiful being able to connect with other people bc they wanna learn more about the original character that you built. it's such a wonderful thing to be able to learn more about someone from the things they create
