not for nothing but of all the Confirmation classes I taught in the early aughts, one of the biggest hits was a session on Revelations it was basically "no we don't believe in the Rapture" / "the Left Behind books are trash" / "if a Catholic starts talking End Times shit to you, run"

It really bothers when people dismiss victims of bigotry and discrimination standing up for their rights as being 'culture wars', much 'identity politics'. Civil rights, and the ability to live your life free of harassment and bigotry is a material, serious political subject.
