Christian, SocDem, idiot with sideburns.

Feels like a weird extension of that midcentury hangup on frugality that the likes of John Paul Getty were notorious for, “if no buy thing then more moni hav :)” Which is funny because Trump loves to spend all the money he can get his hands on but no one ever said he wasn’t a poser hypocrite

“We could do tremendous good for ourselves by just not trading with countries” — Trump’s bonkers view of trade is that you become wealthy by not engaging in commerce

As expected, House Speaker Mike Johnson has killed a vote on Lindsey Graham’s Russia sanctions bill, which passed the Senate earlier this year. The Trump administration will do absolutely nothing to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia’s brutal war.

Not really thrilled that one of the more active public historians on here has apparently completely memory-holed the fact that Democrats *have* called out Musk for his behavior (and business practices), which is the entire reason he’s right-wing aligned now.

Democratic Party, begging them to make a bigger deal of this deeply unlikeable racist billionaire asshole who is constantly pushing things everyone loathes.

As GOP postures against data centers, here's what their moneyman Elon Musk just demanded at G20 on data centers:
"It is pretty straightforward, you have to have an environment that is relatively free of regulation. New things must be default legal instead of default illegal."

Elon Musk lost money hand over fist buying Twitter, but what he was really buying was the opportunity to run, and crash, the US government. To indulge all of his worst, most racist fantasies with the full backing of the administration.

The news media instead told us that "it's not clear what Elon Musk's politics are" right before he became the #1 Republican donor in history then told us "Elon Musk is leaving politics" right before he was going to become the #1 Republican donor for a second consecutive cycle.

Not a fan of Hasan Piker but he's a guy who streams monologues to a small audience. Elon spends hundreds of millions of dollars trying to get Republicans elected and was for weeks the second most powerful member of the federal government, but oddly Republicans are rarely grilled about his views

HOLY SHIT DUDES fucking with the environment is now not just a sin (which Francis also said), it is classed as a direct fuck-you to God and a central tenet of the reasoning is the need to care for "our common home," i.e. you are morally obligated to think about the other people who also live here

Vatican theological commission defines ‘sin against creation and the Creator’ in new document

The more than 29,000 word text calls for ecological conversion due to “sin against creation and the Creator.”

We should replace the term "detransitioner" with "double-transitioner" because really it's transitioning twice. And that opens the door for the concept of "triple-trans."
