Say what you want… but “sit still to learn” isn’t backed the way people think it is. Movement doesn’t mean distraction. For students, it could help them produce more creative ideas.
I swear if I see "actionable insights", "outcomes", "landscapes", "enhanced", "support mechanisms", or "contexts" one more time in academic papers submitted to journals OR student writing... I think I'll internally combust. It's obvious that you've used AI.
Identification matters, especially when funding depends on it. But it only works if it leads to meaningful support. Otherwise, we’re focusing more on who qualifies than what students actually need.

We are constantly bombarded with the doom and gloom in the news (I get it, it's freaking awful). However, I'm trying to focus on what I can control (like cleaning my office) and find little sparks of joy to escape into. Anyone else?
It is really freeing to consider alternate paths from academia. It's not that I wouldn't still love to be a professor in the future, but I also love the idea of creating a research pathway for myself outside of academia that could grow and help more people.

The 2 things I commonly find are: 1 - Conflation of correlation and causation 2 - Making assumptions that are neither evident in the data nor within their control (e.g., "He gets no support at home.")
Data literacy is a major issue. I've seen a lot of very well-meaning teachers and admins use very slick data systems to make terrible decisions.
Schools have more data than ever. The real challenge isn’t collecting data. It’s turning it into decisions that actually improve learning.
In education research, the hardest problems are rarely statistical. They're usually measurement problems. Garbage in, Garbage out...
