25 years ago today America was attacked by zero Afghans, zero Iranians and zero Iraqis.

9/11 was an unspeakable tragedy. Many lives were lost on that day. Later, many first responders and survivors lost their lives from cancer, destitute. And many, many more innocent Afghans and Iraqis lost their lives in the aftermath. We should not selectively remember all the innocent lives lost.

ICYMI my solo article on MENA identity. When MENA Americans aren’t given a “MENA” option on forms, they answer identity-related questions on politics more strongly (eg higher end of the scale) than if“MENA” had been added. Having the group label or not changes the average response!
