👷‍♀️Today I met with SNG housing Association to visit a vacant property they lease on Fore Street. The scaffolding has also been causing problems. 🌇We talked about the problems & how to get the repairs done. I’ve asked the Council to intervene to get action by all parties involved.

Me, Cllr Tess Read & the Civic Society all spoke at planning committee against latest plans for Mary Arches Car Park redevelopment to a coliving block for the 10% students & long term living proposed for this currently council owned site.

Voting is a right, not a privilege. It shouldn’t take a court case to make the Labour Gov see that. Denying millions a vote in local elections on 7 May, incl in Exeter, was a dangerous decision. Green candidates are ready to step up as councillors & serve our communities, not self interest.

I went along to planning committee to speak up for St David’s ward against this coliving development. The committee backed my request not to let it become a gated community. They then agreed to defer application on grounds of height & massing. We still don’t need more coliving on this one street!

In Exeter hundreds turned out, rejecting Britain First & UKIPs devisive message. Even with their leader there not many joined them. Minorities aren’t the cause of our country’s problems. Exeter’s not without problems, but it’s a great place to live & work & our diverse community lives well together
