The thing about fans writing for existing franchises is that you really have to be not just a fan, but have the ability to reconcile craft from fandom, being a solid writer helps too.

What David Jonsson getting cast in Black Panther 3 has taught me is that we really should check out more movies as we can, because there's still so much talent out there that lots of people aren't aware of. I loved David in The Long Walk, so I was so pumped when I heard the news.
I Love Boosters was batshit insane and I loved it. Genuinely one of the most visually bonkers movies I've seen in years. With this and Sorry to Bother You, Boots Riley is really fuckin knocking it out of the park with this unique brand of comedic surrealism. Would highly recommend.

Being a part of recent fandoms has reinforced a lot of my dislike for theory culture. Theories on their own are fine - it’s natural and fun to have them! But when people get too attached to their preconceptions over the story actually being told, attitudes get SUPER toxic.
