Today the Parliamentary scrutiny period for the draft Code of Practice ends. It still requires a commencement order to come into force. It does not happen automatically today. Labour could still, in theory, choose not to do this.

7/ From our founder @jamiewareham.co.uk 👇 “We know all too well how terrible so many of the mainstream media titles have been to our community. “And while they lean into anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric to chase clicks and rage bait, even gay media can be pushed off course by market pressures."
Just want to underscore how much journalistic talent will go as part of this, and what a shame that is. My thoughts are with the dedicated LGBTQIA+ journalists, who, despite toxic work culture and editorial agendas, have fought hard to do good work for our community in its newsroom.
