Events like Aella’s “Slutcon,” which is happening again this weekend.

I just feel like if you design a piece of technology and you're like "wow! This technology doesn't do what we want a lot of the time and we aren't really sure how it works!" that isn't a brag that's just a sign you're really bad at your job
It's wild that tech companies have created a digital Amelia Bedelia and have convinced every company to pay insane amounts of money to employ the Bad at Following Directions Machine, while simultaneously spreading the narrative that it'll probably kill us because it's so bad at following directions.
Also why do we all assume a planet is better than other celestial body types. Maybe Pluto doesn't need to be a planet to be worthy of love. I bet dwarf planets have cool special abilities like dark vision or enhanced resilliance.

I took a walk and saw a cat sitting in a stroller wearing a bow tie. A few minutes later I saw two dogs, one wearing a formal shirt with attached bow tie, and another swaddled like a baby, strapped to their owner. I don't know what is happening but I love it.
THIS. AI isn't "going rogue" any more than those exploding Samsung galaxy phones from 2016 went rogue. Human engineers poorly deployed a technology and there were negative consequences. The responsibility falls entirely on humans.

I'm begging the media to show a shred of journalistic integrity and stop parroting what altman or amodei say
Im not worried about being turned into paperclips or whatever your AI Sci Fi apocalypse of choice is. I am worried about the fact that theres basically no regulation in the US for how AI and adjacent tech is built, deployed, & used, and the tech is moving faster than the red tape can catch up with.
