Hey there, I’m Andrew! I’m a dad and a dinosaur lover, and I review stuff occasionally. (he/him) 🦖📚🦕 dinodadreviews.com

It's #fossilfriday! Here's a guy from HOW TO SURVIVE PREHISTORY: Arthropleura, a (probably!) herbivorous millipede relative that roams the coal forests of Carboniferous Scotland. Survival Verdict: YES. It's got a nasty nip, but we feel if you get bit, you have it coming.

A large, flat green millipede of unusual size crawls through a Carboniferous swamp forest, with some tiny tetrapods crawling on its back. Art by Stieven Van Der Poorten, from HOW TO SURVIVE PREHISTORY

My contribution to the fertility decline discourse is to note that there has never, in the millions of years that hominids have existed on this planet, been a sustained global population boom like we've seen in the past 300ish years. Why in god's name would you think that growth is sustainable?

I always see nonpartisan, righteous anger at public art. Everyone loves to hate a concrete blob bought with taxpayer money, what's it even meant to be etc. My hot take: art funding is good and there's no benign policy for keeping out 'bad' art. You really just gotta fund it until a good one happens

I’m getting trained on the air scribe at the Perot museum today! I’m gonna be a volunteer fossil preparator. 😁 They have me working on an ammonite with no collection data so that if I make a mistake I don’t break anything important. 😅
