Excited to share our new paper! 🔝👇 rdcu.be/fl6UL We uncover an unexpected mechanism underlying the therapeutic effects of anti-EGFR treatment in CRC. Rather than acting through tumor cells, our findings highlight a key role for EGFR signaling in myeloid cells in inducing an immunosuppressive TME.

Our paper is now out with Cover! It reveals the specific role of EGFR in Ras mutant colorectal tumors which include metabolic rewiring, incresed stemness and more….all driven by Smoc2. have a look 👇👇🔝
Our June issue is online! www.embopress.org/toc/17574684... The beautiful cover highlights the article by @maria-sibilia.bsky.social & al. on the tumor-intrinsic role of #EGFR in #KRAS mutant #ColorectalCancer 👉 doi.org/10.1038/s443... Scientific image: D. Kirchhofer, D. Krauß & M. Sibilia
Check out our new paper! We identified Smoc2 as an interesting target that is upregulated upon EGFR deletion, driving stemness signatures, reduction in cell size and metabolic rewiring. 💪 🔝👍

1/2 News from the Sibilia Lab 🔔 🔝Very excited about our very recent publication in @Nature Cancer 🔝🔝where we describe a new immunotherapeutic approach to treat topically accessible tumors like melanoma and breast cancer with the TLR7/8 agonist Imiquimod in combination with systemic Interferon.
2/2 This combination therapy shows efficacy against local tumors and distant metastases and sensitizes tumors to checkpoint inhibitors with enhanced memory formation. Check out the cool mechanism in our paper ⬇️ 👇 rdcu.be/d7c4X
