If you are at @ecvp.bsky.social and interested in methods per se, come to the talk this Wednesday, 10:30 Tregonawell Hall.

Hello #ecvp! We are so happy to be with you yet again. Here is our #ecvp2026 schedule, please come see us. 🚨We are looking for a doctoral student🚨 -- let's chat! #visionscience #psychscisky #neuroskyence #cogsci
Networking during @bamb-school.bsky.social goes very well. Today, that good boy and I collaborated on the single-object-tracking task in the presence of significant noise. #BAMB2026 PS: Jokes aside, based on day 1 BAMB! is great.
I also created a version of the 'guess the correlation' game. Students always enjoyed it, but the original website (with fun retro design) started to require a google account login. So I created my own version. Play it here: lakens.github.io/statistical_...
🚨Preprint Alert🚨and Thread 🧵 The Visual Imagery Visually Anchored Scale (VIVAS) reveals dissociable perceptual dimensions and category-specific structure: osf.io/preprints/ps... Authors: @heidasigurdar.bsky.social, Árnason, Mäekalle, Vésteinsdóttir, @arnig.bsky.social 1/9

It seems like it never gets boring. And feels like an absolute magic every time.
And if you’re happening to be in Zürich this week and up for a coffee, let me know. This week I’m spending at the Computational Psychiatry Course. Let’s see how it’s gonna be.
I can’t think of a cooler way to communicate science. Check out the attached PDF — it’s definitely worth your time if you’re into visual storytelling or data visualization.
The dissertation! 150 pages of prairie, history, & more pawpaws than you'd expect. I've sold over 850 copies of this baby, and the world being what it is, it's far too expensive to print another edition right now. Check it out in pdf form: drive.google.com/file/d/104cf...

Dear Sci Community, I’m looking for an illustrated book from probably late 80s (it was translated to Russian in early 90s, blue ink). The book was among others about space-time distortion and gravity. There were 2 main characters (Rose? & Gaston?) and the title included Catastrophe? Any ideas?
We're just starting the UKRN Project TIER workshop for teaching reproducible research. I'll be live-blogging the sessions in this thread. www.ukrn.org/training/tea...
Huge congrats go to @ovchinir.bsky.social Irina Ovchinnikova, who is doing her doctoral studies under my supervision, for receiving a doctoral grant from the Icelandic Research Fund today 😊 Irina is already an exceptionally experienced researcher so this is very well deserved.
