Thanks. Yes, that's what I was trying to say, but took too long to get there. Our politics community is strong, and I'd love for us to expand into new communities. Science and sports have already taken off. Birding, gardening, K-pop, we're open to all (except nazis and jerks).
there was a recent bug in the Bluesky app that caused some people's chat permission settings to switch to "No one" we already fixed the bug, but folks may want to double-check their settings to make sure they are set the way they want. go here: bsky.app/messages/set... look for these settings:
Thinking about atproto as an identity and data *substrate* of the web. RSS couldn't go all the way because it built within the boundaries of the same-origin paradigm, just like the closed platforms that ended up enclosing most of the web.
Yeah I'd say RSS was directionally right - it was an underpowered database replication protocol. It just needed to go all the way

blue sky used to be a community. now every ones off in their own little private rooms talking trash & posting nasty pics. Hate to be the one to say it but group chat culture has made this web site a bastard's website
As good an opportunity as any to show off Mr. Jim Business and Regular-Sized Rudy.
What's up, chat! Group chats are rolling out today in the new v1.124 update. This is our first feature built for communities, and there's more to come.
Along with group chats, we've rolled out a new way to share your profile and invite friends to find you on Bluesky. Check your profile — you'll see a new share button. You can use this to create a personalized QR code other people can scan to more easily find (and hopefully follow) you.
communities are coming to Bluesky this year. today, Bluesky is one big space. communities will be smaller spaces inside that where you can go deeper and hang out with people who care about the same stuff.
v1.123 is live! You can now attach up to 10 photos in posts. We listened to your feedback and redesigned the photo carousel. It only appears for posts with at least 5 photos. Swipe through to learn more.
maybe you’ve heard the rumors, or maybe you noticed the new split layout for chat on desktop. i’ll confirm it: group chats are on the way, and landing pretty soon too. it’s part of our move toward building for communities and closer social connection here.

We've been hard at work on a new website with new guides, better docs, more translations, even our very own blog. We think it looks pretty sharp, too. It's now easier than ever to just build things with AT Protocol. atproto.com
we just rolled out an experimental integration with @germnetwork.com, an E2E encrypted chat app that integrates with atproto. Germ users can add a button to their profile so others can message them from Bluesky. we're exploring ways to connect your profile with other apps in the Atmosphere.
