This is a very good point. Imagine if we had a triple lock to update the means test thresholds in adult social care, unchanged since 2010, or the minimum income guarantee.

Relevant re. this piece: One thing never mentioned about the pensions triple lock is there is no other equivalent in the welfare system There is no *single* lock for Local Housing Allowance or the benefit cap (they don't ever have to rise). And child benefit, JSA, ESA, etc only get an annual review

I don't think that is an "easy answer" - it it too simplistic there are bigger questions - 1 e..g social care is currently based on eligibility criteria with high thresholds and so heavily rationed and limited to people with high levels of need. Very different from universal NHS
