For a period of a couple of years during the 2010s I was employed regularly by cattle to shoot the covers for the albums they had recorded. It was always wonderfully inspiring to witness the love, hard work and passion they had put into their music and I think that comes through in the photos.

Some cattle with rich parents who have formed a hugely sanitised-sounding folk pop band and paid a reputable PR and branding agency too much money to get their image just right.Some tense and jaded cattle who have just recorded their difficult third album, which the record company has informed them has no obvious hit single, and are consequently about to break up.A physically impressive but wretchedly lonely bull who has stolen another bull's child, made a record with it, and is imploring me not to call the police and instead help them absolutely nail the cover shot that will take them all the way to the top.A young cow whose music had been written off as "cold and aloof" so wanted to show her fans her sensitive side by getting me to photograph her having a really enjoyable scratch against this tree.

Trailers out for Neuromancer on Apple TV and Blade Runner 2099 on Amazon so it feels like cyberpunk is on the up... From the little there is (teasers being what they are), looks interesting. Both projects with a lot to live up to.

Saw it a few days ago; it was a truly spectacular experience like I imagine the Golden Age of Hollywood at its height might have been. Stunning production, cinematography, acting, set pieces and so visceral in the right moments (like the horror of battle, Circe's spell casting etc). Just incredible.

Reposting: blown away by this app. I've learnt so much in a ridiculously short time. Robins, turns out, are everywhere, wrens are even more amazing and lovable than I thought and the resident murder in our old garden oak is, in fact, a clattering of jackdaws; the crows are two oaks down the road :)

I love it very much, it doesn't just go 'this sound is this bird' but gives you background, latin names, species variations, geography, habits etc. You get to log sightings with an extended app (which you can choose to do, not obligatory at all) called Cornell Labs, too. merlin.allaboutbirds.org

Favourite post-film experience: Mad Max Fury Road. A lot of women & girls from all walks of life & ages went to the loo en masse to finish sobbing & blow our nose, because Furiosa rising on the platform in grim victory had gotten to us ALL. Never loved a random group of strangers so much in my life.

Serenity. The Reaver harpoon. Gasp of shock from most of the auditorium, including me. Everyone shouting in joyous awe when the helicarrier rose out of the sea in Avengers. The Fox & the Hound's waterfall scene made children scream. I was still seized w quiet horror after Tod's abandonment :)
