Ken Sim ran on a competent and compassionate approach to government. But with this leaked plan, we see his true colours: don't house and help people - ban the housing they need, get them out of the city, and single out Indigenous people. He's only "sorry" he was caught. (1/2)

Ken Sim says he's "sorry" for his leaked plan to displace Indigenous people from the DTES. But he's not backing down from his plans to ban new supportive housing, or to ram through rezonings to benefit specific landowners. He's only sorry he was caught. vancouver.citynews.ca/2025/03/13/v...

Savoring a maple candy, playing co-op enshrouded with my bestie, watching Canadian & American hockey teams pummel each other. I never watch hockey, what's happened to me?

What happened to common decency? What happened to caring for one another? What happened to wanting to make a better world for everyone in it? Compassion is strength. Love means more than hate. I will chant this till my dying day.

i like being an artist because i have a lot of stupid ideas. then i can turn them into reality and inflict them on everyone else

Imagine it's 2007, you tell your past self that the "you're fired" guy from trash tv is becoming the president of the US for a second time, and everyone is up in arms because he's probably gonna start a trade war with Canada. I wouldn't believe me. I wouldn't want to. But come Monday? Here we go.

The trouble with having dyslexia & learning from reading books is that I will inevitably have really strange pronunciations to words. For the longest time I thought labyrinth was pronounced la-brinth & no one knew what I was talking about when I mentioned the masterpiece by Jim Henson.

Today I vended at a Métis Winter Solstice market/event. I got to spend the shortest day of the year surrounded by my culture, and the people that I love. Even if life is hard sometimes, I am blessed to be a member of my community. I am thankful I am Métis.

#valentino culturally appropriating Métis/Dene beadwork may seem like a small thing in light of the state of the world, but I assure you, to very real current Métis/Dene artists it's huge & another unnecessary devastation & cruelty to us. If you want Indigenous beadwork, get an Indigenous artist.

It's just not Christmas till lgr & the Christmas clone does a festive video. Man lost most his house and he still gives us joy this year! 🎄🥰

I had such a fun time doing my first indoor market. I got to talk to some very nice ladies who recognized my sash right away, and one of them even called it a Michif sash. 🥹 I also got to scare a child by taking my elf ear off before realizing they were too little to understand it wasn't real. 😅

Tw: On the off chance any other Métis might be bothered by this; in the movie "The dead don't hurt" a man is shown hanged by his sash. The sash is in the L’Assomption fingerwoven style.

Something about making beadwork specifically for my culture just hits differently. These kinds of pieces are just connected to the deepest part of my heart. Beading is medicine.

A close up photo of four small circular pendant sized beadwork pieces. Three are complete in their design and one is in progress. They are all a design of the white Métis infinity symbol and two small blue flowers. All are beaded onto deer hide. The works in progress are fitted onto a wooden embroidery hoop. To the top of the photo is a tin of beads only partially seen.
