I write about a city that punishes you for caring https://www.worcestersucks.email/

Highlight of the meeting last night: Santos, a longtime city custodian, saying a subcontractor change in Sept. to Pro City Facility Services has left custodians w/o benefits or pension and already reduced workforce. "To be treated this way by the city of Worcester is demoralizing and unacceptable."

Moe Bergman over the past two weeks has put on a master class in being a sniveling disingenuous little piss baby on this public bathroom proposal.... Petty and King publicly changed his diaper tonight and i don't think he even realizes it lol

Watching council. Second speaker at the mic from DSA talked about advancing a social housing platform in a southbridge state rep race. Flagging to look into later.. Sounds interesting.

One thing I have maintained in my six years of doing Worcester sucks is that Kate Toomey chairing public safety is about as pristine an example of above board municipal corruption as you could hope to find. No longer! (“Temporarily”)

I think it's important to note that this wasn't just the same week, the vote was a week later, and the sketchy car crash didn't become public until almost a week after that. So the whole time the council was ignoring the public, they were also hiding this OBVIOUS need for civilian oversight as well.

You gotta hand it to em “WPD lets public safety chairwoman off on obvious DUI the same week the council votes against a police oversight board” would be a really good way to satirize a corrupt municipality

Giving special blue envelopes to autistic people to prevent “misunderstandings” with police during traffic stops seems like a tacit admission that police are a danger to the public. Maybe addressing the elephant in the room would be better than a pointless feel-good program like this.

New statewide program gives Mass. drivers with autism a tool for police stops

The free statewide initiative gives residents a way to share important information during traffic stops while helping officers avoid misunderstandings.
