Mari, like her codefendants Benjamin “Champagne Song” and Zachary Evetts, is being held in segregation. She has faced extensive violating strip searches, excessive surveillance during meetings with lawyers, and was forced to breathe in pepper spray chemicals 5 times across (1/3)

Snitching doesn’t come out of nowhere. This is not to excuse those who cooperated with the police+prosecution in Prairieland; not at all. It’s to add another layer: collective responsibility, & not just when state repression hits. See full IG post @cindymilstein kolektiva.social/@cbmilstein/...

This week Tucker Carlson platformed another hardline antisemite-- a pastor who told Carlson 'the Jews killed Jesus' and whose writings rail against 'international Jews'. But unlike last fall's interview with Nick Fuentes, this time the media hardly noticed. My latest at @religiondispatches.org:

Liz Soto and Savanna Batten are 2 of those sentenced to 50 years in prison for Prairieland. I visited them in a north Texas jail—11 months into their incarceration over a July 4 noise demo—to meet the Trump admin’s “Antifa terrorists”. from behind glass, Soto said, “They didn’t like my book club.”

This is the second zine-related arrest I’ve read about this week.
We, the Free Des Support Committee, remain steadfastly by Des’s side. We’ve been there from the beginning, & we’re not going anywhere, until he & the other Prairieland defendants go free. Zines are not a crime. Solidarity is not a crime. Free Des Revol. Free them all. freedes.net @free.des.revol
I wrote about the Prairieland defendants and the urgency of opposing the extreme sentences handed down on Tuesday. And they likely will not be the last.
The Prairieland Sentences Are a National Emergency
A federal court has punished Texas ICE demonstrators with decades in prison. This is dark news not just for them but for anyone who may want to register political dissent.

Flavio Pessoa did an amazing job showing a selection of the files, like photos of Liz Soto and her husband Ines, a fellow defendant, tabling with their Emma Goldman Book Club. the Sotos had a printing press in their garage. the FBI came for it while they were in jail. that’s in the files, too.

examples of what the FBI included as evidence of "Antifa terrorism" in the Prairieland case: -Narcan spray -Anarchist tattoos -a highlighted copy of Emergent Strategy -a zine made of a 2019 review of Hereditary and Midsommar from @reproutopia.bsky.social -First Aid Kits -seeds for garden vegetables
among the 22 defendants are Des Revol, Champagne Song (pictured with partner Rowan Gibson, an unsentenced defendant) Autumn Hill (pictured with wife Lydia Koza), Savanna Batten, Dario Sanchez (unsentenced), the Sotos, and Meagan Morris (pictured with Hill). 8 were sentenced to a combined 450 years.
the DOJ's counterterrorism messaging named "Antifa", "Anarchists" and "pro-trans extremists" as major threats. nearly a third of the 22 Prairieland defendants are trans. Autumn Hill and Meagan Morris, sentenced to 50 yrs each, have been held in men's prisons, even denied hormones in the last year.
