There's good reason @transnews.network is worker-run, and prioritizes otg trans people/communities over establishment figures and pr. There is a need for solid info (not panicslop), in-depth investigations and platforms for trans voices that reflect our actual lives, not a handful of gentry.

Fighting for and winning the right to free movement of all people is fundamental to any chance survival of our species and our world. Borders will increasingly mean extermination, genocide and treating people as expendable
“Here’s a radical thought: what if migration is only a problem to those who want it to be? What if we started seeing the mass movement of people less as an existential threat and more as a simple inevitability of human existence?”
Been offline for a bit so I'm late to the party, but hey @kenjennings.bsky.social you owe my friend @gwenpepperoni.myatproto.social a pretty large apology. If any friend of mine behaved the way and did the things you did, I would stop being their friend permanently. It's truly bad person stuff, man.
Just reread this book, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the intersections of food, protest movements, and mutual aid work.

I'm reading a book about food justice, and it's really good so far, but unfortunately the author has already mentioned "obesity" as a health problem to be solved multiple times. 🙄 I really wish there were more awareness of fat liberation within the food justice world, and the left as a whole.

the point of contrived moral dilemmas like the trolley problem is to trick people into entertaining the thought of committing atrocities everything about these scenarios is imaginary and improbable and designed to make you accept bureaucratic murder as a banal inevitability
One reason I don’t like the trolley problem is because are we supposing people can’t get out of the way

I have so much good condition, child-based *stuff* my kids have outgrown (clothes, toys, entire bedrom set) and this fucking society makes it SO FUCKING HARD for me to give these items away and basically encourages me to place it in a landfill and I fucking hate everything.

I swear to God, part of the problem of literacy is that we make kids read SO MANY books like this. Of course they’re going to associate reading with misery! We put them in a Skinner box and shock them when they read, what did people THINK would happen?
Having ranted about school curriculum books, I’ve just seen my son’s summer reading list, and all I can say is “I was right”. A more depressing collection would be tricky to assemble. Are we actively trying to convey to kids the idea that reading is dismal and arduous?

This site wouldn't exist without it's trans users and the fact that the mods distain this fact is very telling
I also wish there were *any* books about the intersections of food justice and fat liberation (which would also have to include disability, racial, and environmental justice, as they're all so entangled). I genuinely can't think of a single book that covers this.
