Over the last five years I've been very discouraged at the way politicians in Sweden have insinuated that those of us who have become citizens in the last ten years are a threat or illegitimate.

The past four years were characterised by an astonishing acceptance of ethnonationalist views, xenophobic rhetoric and authoritarian policies often targeting children.
