I love you little owl!
The alt #BirdOfTheDay for today is #Busted, birds looking directly into the camera. Judging from it's expression I'm pretty sure this little Northern Pygmy Owl wasn't impressed with being photographed. #owls #birds #wildlife #grumpy #mcoupephotography
Ditto. I’d come up with a different set of 5 every day
2. Top 5 books 1. Not fair 2. Cannot narrow it down to 5 3. See 1. 4. See 2. 5. Pinhoe Egg
1. Book you’ve reread the most times? Probably The Lord of the Rings, which I read in its entirety every year from when I was 9 until I was 18, and then a few more times after that. Including once out loud to my kids to make sure they heard the text before we went to see The Fellowship of the Ring
I could use the distraction. Give us a like and hear something interesting!

Here it is, your Bluesky #Bike Content of the Day for Tuesday, 8/4/26. Definitely worth a watch!
Facinating insight into the reason and history behind skinny to wide tire widths on road/gravel bikes. #bicycle
Basically this was the driving force behind Flight of Xidoptero: I just wanted to hang out with pterosaurs
I cannot express to you how much I yearn to see a living pterosaur. There's nothing alive today that's even close to what those things looked like, and they used to be ALL OVER! Oooh I'd love to see one movin' around, doin' pterosaur things.
A little something for all you LaneSaber and bicycle safety fans! This video shows how easy it is to reach and deploy when you need additional safety. BONUS: Included are some driver “testimonials” showing I’m not blocking them, just slowing down and lowering road stress.
My coworker got me a variety pack of window markers so she got a fancy GB heron on the backside of the schedule board! #birds

@duckworth.senate.gov I wanted to know how you feel about the fact that (and this is no shade on the guys ) of the recent four US service people who were killed…. the 2 men are being promoted posthumously and the 2 women are not …..(obviously I believe they should all be promoted posthumously )
I don’t live anywhere near Toronto, but I can’t help but love this opinion piece www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...

Time for a #SketchoftheWeek! I spotted this scene on a local trail called ELV. It's decorated with little garden gnomes. Two golden-mantled ground squirrels were reasserting their sovereignty over the stump.

Good luck, Muddy!

We should ban AI data centers, but let's also take at least five to ten million cars off of US roadways.
“Cornell researchers found that at the current rate of AI growth, the burgeoning industry could represent 24 to 44 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions by 2030, the equivalent of adding five to ten million cars to US roadways.”

58 days 😬 Nominate now because we’ll be setting the lineup sometime very, very soon.
I just realized it’s 59 days until Mineral Cup #MinCup26 and I AM NOT READY. We need to lock in the competitors early this year Because Reasons, so nominate NOW: www.mineralcup.org/nominations Tip: Reasons make us more likely to pick a mineral as it’s easier to imagine how it can campaign.
