Our #ScottishChurchOfTheWeek, St Mary's Episcopal, Aberfoyle, has a fine interior. Eyes are immediately drawn to the striking arched timber roof. Also, the carved oak-panelled reredos, installed in 1950, but bearing the date 1683, is worth mentioning on #WoodensDay. 🧵1/2
Katherine of Aragon was buried in Peterborough Cathedral on 29th January 1536. The original tomb was damaged during the Civil War. Now a simple black marble slab marks her last resting place. #memorialsmonday #tudor

Rare examples of fine terracotta tombs in England: Bedingfeld Chantry Chapel (1525) for Sir Edmund Bedingfeld (d.1496), builder of Oxburgh Hall and his wife Lady Margaret (d. 1514). Lady Margaret's is inco-operated into the arched entrance and her husband's links with the chancel.
