it's nice to know that i've been wanting to kill gameplay since 2022. hadn't quite figured it out yet though.

the thing that's magic about the door is that you can't open it with the red key. you don't need the red key for anything. it's just a key. sometimes a key is just a key.

It's funny how the lead developer is treated the worst in client projects, specially when solo while you'd think it would be the opposite.

Just heard Richard Hofmeier decided to not be around anymore. I hope he changed his mind, but it's not looking good from what he wrote. Feels really bad.

The important thing about all of this is that I keep throwing away my work and rebuilding it from scratch, very quickly and very regularly.

It’s way more fun to write code than it is to read code. If a prototype would require multiple weeks of coding to set up, then I simplify my design or just don’t do it. I want to retain my flexibility, my ability to shift directions and try out strange ideas, as much as possible.

The realization that social worlds do not have an independent, stable existence but instead emerge from our collective action is “sometimes arrived at in a moment of heady delight, but often as a horrifying realization”. This realization is considered a “fatal insight” because it destroys assumptions that the current order, roles, rules, and routines are given. Within the system of roles, rules, and routines, there is far more room to maneuver than previously assumed. Rejection of objectivity puts possibility, perhaps even responsibility, squarely in the court of subjectivity.

Hello! I like the font in this website so maybe I will write on it properly. My next project will be about bureaucratic game development in spirit of rebelling against the state of things around me recently. I'll be researching gamedev hell stories, DM's open ;)
