Sometimes you need a reminder of the importance of clean water. We had a water main break that messed up the water on our street for about 12 hours. Not a long time, but long enough MJ to recognize the importance of water and indoor plumbing.

I eventually gave up on looking for a new devrel role because I don't want to be measured on how successful I am at attracting people to the product. that's not where my expertise lies, but that's how most companies think of the job. they want you to get out there and build a community for them
a fun thing to do when you're talking to a recruiter about a devrel role is ask about the reporting chain. in my experience it's almost always considered a marketing function that reports up to the CMO. my former employer is the one exception dev marketing is important but it's not what I do

One thing automation has always made us do is confront "did a person need to be doing this in the first place?" AI is providing an interesting spread of "Fucking hell yes, yikes, look at that!" and "no, sweet Cthulhu, what's wrong with you?" answers that middle management may not always love.
