Made this as a way to talk about moderation more freely, to maintain some lists, to learn, and to share the occasional funny or scary story about it. Good faith questions welcomed, bad faith questions and sealioning muted, rude replies blocked.
1. People should use Bluesky how they want and stop worrying if, by consequence, others decide they want to avoid them. 2. It's dumb to expect us to credulously believe that any account is inescapable here the land of the Nuclear Block. 3. It's trivial to produce the receipts for this list.
We have decided to label this post as "Suspected AI Imagery". Here's how we came to this conclusion, as an example of our process. It takes time and effort, and we try to make our due diligence as much as possible. First, there is no known source for this video. No news coverage. 1/6

Just a note that if you use the TERF label, you should also use the intolerance label, as that catches far more folks for transphobia.
Some accounts were flagged as misinformation risks today because of a false story about a data center draining the Rio Grande.
Fake image of Pete Hegseth posted by @cwebbonline.com has fooled many and was spread widely by the unsuspecting. They'll be added to the Misinformation Risk list.
We would like to raise two proposals to our users. The first, is the depreciation of the "Disinformation Network Label". This label is confusing in combination with fringe media and we are proposing depreciation:

Photoshopped image of the prez is making the rounds and landing accounts on the misinformation list.
'Harassment' - same deal. Reminder: I never generate notifications. If you're receiving messages about being on a list it's because you signed up for that via #listifications. Got a problem with list notifications? Take it up with them.
I guess 'automated' is a word many people don't understand?
The recent FLOTUS news is causing more fake images to circulate. Misinfo list is catching some of them.
Lots more fake images/videos from #Artemis today. Clout isn't gonna chase itself.

Got a real doozy of a DM today (name redacted). They claim to have lawyers! And #Listifications of course.
Reminder, if you run a PDS, you can tail @skywatch.blue with @baileytownsend.dev's label-watcher, and you can can get alerted when we apply an inauthentic-fundraising, spam, bulk-following, engagement-abuse, or platform-manipulation label to an account on your PDS.
I did not share the original story because my gut was that the sourcing was dubious. Someone who knows more about the sole source confirms that skepticism. Don't fall for clickbait, read the piece linked below. (If the story is confirmed by other outlets, that's another thing. But ... it's not)
Interesting post about the coordinated anti-AOC smear campaign. It's 2016 again! Fake local news outlets on Facebook getting picked up until eventually it winds up in the Washington Post.

This person reposted a known fake photo of Epstein and Nigel Farange. Misinformation risk confirmed.
I don't track bots or trolls, but questions help avoid spreading misinfo: - Who posted it? Are they a legit source? - Does it include links to a reliable source? - Is it fact-based (names, real places, dates/times) or emotional? - Do text/images show signs of AI use? This is all common advise now.

That’s fine, but I do worry about differences in how bots, trolls, farms of them are spotted on this platform, how to be more discerning including what we repost & comment on & we just want to be wiser? I welcome direction here. Help us help ourselves?
You're free to create any list you want, of course. My policy is to ignore moderation lists and block feed lists (which can be used for targeting), if I'm added to them. Then as far as I'm concerned they don't exist and I just go on with life.
Reason for today's group was posted two hours ago.
Large addition (several hundred) to the misinformation list today after a screen shot of a fake Truth Social post made the rounds yesterday. Added all the primary posts that shared the false information, along with quote posts that weren't calling it out as fake.
The official ICE account is only on Bluesky to post in bad faith. If you want to never see this troll, along with anyone who feeds it (giving them exactly what they want), this list is for you. Same goes for the other engagement-tracking lists maintained here.
Small glitch in the JD Vance engagement list caused some false positives this morning. Fixed and the wrong entries are removed.
I'm using my own recipe for a JD Vance #moderation #list. Most of the ones I see are generated from his followers. This catches many journalists or others who just want to monitor his posts without giving engagement to him. This one is based on reposts/quotes/likes/replies but not followers.
