The #ASC2026 dust has settled.. PCD is in full effect, but you can stave it off with MORE EVENTS! Our pals at SoCal Furs keep an updated calendar of furry-related events you can hightail it to. Check them out at www.socalfurs.com/ 🩵 (The posters we used are ACTUAL events!)

A vertical post-con promotional graphic for Anthro SoCal set against a red brick wall plastered with colorful flyers and announcements for local Southern California furry meetups. Bold, glowing text overlaid in the center asks, "MISSING ASC? THERE'S MORE TO DO!" A framed box at the bottom highlights a calendar icon and reads: "Find SoCal Events on SoCal Furs".

It's already been a week since #ASC2026 but we're asking you to think about the con just one more time. We're looking for feedback for this year! Whether you loved it, hated it, or have anything else to say, we welcome your input. 🩵 Leave your feedback: forms.gle/sMQAg4ByCW...

This balloon dragon was seriously one of the coolest things at @anthrosocal.org Absolutely incredible work by @flatfuck.bsky.social ! The sheer SCALE packed into a balloon sculpture like this is wild. Seeing this big blue derg take over the Pool Toy Party Vibe Lounge was such a treat.

Returning home from #ASC2026, and what a rush that con was! I don't think there was really a second I wasn't actively moving or occupied, but I had a lot of fun overall! 💙🎈 Big shoutout to @pooltoyparty.bsky.social / @phenodtoy.bsky.social for the opportunity to attend and make that giant dragon! 🐉

Again, we do not use sticker mule! And that includes Rockin Monkey since they are part of sticker mule now.

Man sticker mule is advertising all over YouTube, stealing sticker app’s ad aesthetics and really hoping you forget about the obscene amount of money they’ve donated to Trump and also making a Trump statue. But I remember. We all remember, sticker mule. cbs6albany.com/news/local/s...

One of the furry community's originals, Roz Gibson, is in really big trouble. She is in kidney failure, and needs a donor, so please reskeet. www.furaffinity.net/journal/1138...

I’ve thought long and hard about making this post, but really, at this point, I don’t have much to lose. Desperate times, and all that.

TLDR version: I need a kidney transplant, and I’m looking for a donor. Read below for all the gory details.

Since late 2019, right before Covid hit, I’ve been battling a serious illness. I’ve been kind of cagey about what exactly is wrong, for a number of reasons, but here’s the truth—I’m in full kidney failure.

There is no history of this in my family, so when the symptoms began appearing I didn’t recognize them until it was too late. By the time I went to a doctor my kidney function had dropped into the single digits. Most kidney failure is caused by diabetes or high blood pressure—I got some weird kidney disease I can’t even pronounce and never heard of: Oxalate Nephropathy.

By adopting some dietary changes and careful monitoring, I was able to limp along with reduced kidney function for several years. But you don’t appreciate how much your kidneys do to keep you healthy until they stop working. There’s constant fatigue and nausea, and a general feeling of unwellness that never goes away.

But eventually I lost even what minimal function I had left, which left the end of the line for kidney disease: dialysis. As of this point I’ve been on dialysis for about 3 years. Let me tell you—dialysis is its own special kind of hell that you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy.

But even that is just a stop-gap measure, and my condition is continuing to get worse. Despite this, I’m trying my best to live as normal a life as possible. I’m extremely lucky I have a job that’s willing to allow me 9 hours a week for dialysis, so I’m still working. On weekends I work on my art and comics, and one or two days a month I do my volunteer work at the bird-banding site. I can even travel to see my family—if I arrange for dialysis at a local clinic ahead of time.

All of that is done while trying to deal with the symptoms of kidney failure. I’ve known 4 people who were on dialysis—none of them worked or really did much of anything, and at this point they’re all dead, which doesn’t really give me a lot of hope for my future.

Which brings us to the point of all this—I desperately need a kidney transplant. That is the only thing that will give me a chance at a relatively normal life. I’ve been approved and on the transplant list for a few years, but the waiting period in California is very long. By the time I get to the top of it, I may be too sick to get one. Right now I’m still in relatively good condition, comparatively. A transplant from a living donor lasts much longer and is better in every way than one you get from a deceased donor.

Unfortunately, everyone in my immediate family is too old or has other health problems that preclude donation. So this post is a desperate attempt to find anyone willing to donate. I realize donating a kidney is a lot different than giving ten bucks to a GoFundMe, but as I said at the beginning, at this point I don’t have much to lose by asking.

Here is the living donor site: https://www.uclahealth.org/medical-.....t/living-donor

You can inquire and even arrange to donate completely anonymously if that’s what you want. Hopefully there’s a Jack Salem fan out there who wants to see the stories (and the artist) continue for years to come.

That is all.
