We still have the cultural image that actual Nazis were defeated in the 1940's, and the remaining Nazis are either unemployed basement-dwellers or fringe militias in Idaho. There is still a reluctance by media and business leaders to say openly that the world's wealthiest person is a Nazi.

the annoying thing is they are generally not interested in being critical, they’re interested in being contrarians who feel they’re right. its like the 2014 era libertarian bros who would memorise two facts about racist enforcement of gun control and use that to pwn libs in discussions
i tried and got called "shitlib" and "nazi" too much for things like "not supporting Assad" and "standing with Ukraine" and that experience more than any other burned me out with DSA. And that really sucks because I wish so much for it to be better.
