Very well written. The Navier-Stokes result by OpenAI was a bad look IMO, esp. since they rushed it out without having a human expert on the problem who could judge what it is they're putting out (setting aside the plagiarism allegations). Hopefully this declaration will help labs course correct.

TIL that the SPX trailing PE ratio is not a good indicator of the state of the stock market. Eg, when the market hit rock bottom in 2009 after the housing bubble, the PE was really high, because the reported earnings had tanked. Buffett indicator reflected the state much better.

This is simply bonkers. The White House is in active discussions with DOJ about settling Trump's lawsuit against the IRS in his favor, *precisely because* a judge might soon throw it out. WH apparently wants DOJ to agree to "settle" the lawsuit *before* that happens. Utter insanity.

I had to chastise Claude Code for the first time :) It was trying & failing to write a Python script to edit some test files. I suggested another approach & after it failed w that it went back to the script.I said "Enough with the Python script!" & laid out precisely how to do it, then it succeeded

My take is that the coding agents have no moat. There is currently a capability gap that will close over the next few months. So, people's choice will be largely a matter of preference.

Coding Agent, current status: - Claude Code is 4x bigger than Codex - Codex is 2x bigger than Cursor - Antigravity is almost as big as Cursor (but probably just because all Googlers use it? 😅) We'll add tagging for other agents asap. (Source: one data point from the @hf.co Hub team. YMMV)
