I don't know how we're supposed to keep hearing about finding common ground and working towards a future together. There are are just totally irredeemable chunks of the country. 45% for Ken Paxton. During the MAGA dictatorhip attempt. These are not people we can share a body politic with.

Three consecutive polls show James Talarico narrowly ahead of Ken Paxton in the Texas Senate race. The latest: Texas Southern U. has Talarico up 47%-45%. In the past week, a Fox poll had Talarico up 51-48 and a Texas Public Opinion Research survey found Talarico up 45-40.

I stupidly went on Twitter, and the degree to which the bots and shills are going on about John Thune...it's heartening they feel the SAVE act is this important. They all dove off a cliff together and now they can finally see the ground coming

It's never going to fully compute for me that NYT and other "respectable media outlets" will write a headline about Trump's presidency in normal terms, and then the content of the article is just a series of career ending scandals, and the photo is a man who looks like a dead body in a river.

As unpopular as the Iran war is, the coverage still doesn't do justice to the fact that they just could have not done any of this. There was literally no reason beyond general bloodthirstiness and incompetence.

I understand that it sucks to have to read a book you didn't choose as a kid but when people are like 40 and still going, "well assigned reading turned me off from reading" it's like, ok but you're 40. No one has assigned you a book in like 20 years.
