Just here to follow & read what others are saying. From New Westminster, BC. I love cats, Christmas, and - oddly considering I'm mostly homebound - public transit. Social anxiety sometimes mutes me, but I'm still here trying to be part of the fun.

Cleaning up my room, decided to remind myself what was on a box that’s just been sat there for years. Found my childhood jewellery box filled with random trinkets that I had deemed Special while growing up including, of course, one obligatory millennial saved sticker to be used only upon my demise

Peeking inside a jewellery box we see in the forefront a pin that says, “FIRST NIGHT Vancouver 2000 New Year’s Eve”, and a red singer with oversized shoes attached to a man holding a microphone and holding out his hand in what I imagine was a cool gesture from my youth, the sticker is shiny and changes colours on the character’s jacket and backpack. Behind these we can see the mirror in the jewellery box scribbled with “I love you mom”

Just dropped Poppy at the vet for dental work. I have been suffering the worst sense of impending doom, think they should have prescribed me the gabapentin instead, stupid worried for my cuddly little wumpugus 😭

It has been sixteen years since a fire occurred at my apartment building. Anything that smells smoky still sets me off, running around checking doorknobs fearing my building is on fire, standing in the hallway looking odd to a neighbour that wasn't here and doesn't understand.

#NewWest as of today, the Neighbour House does NOT need any more volunteers for the donation centre and is no longer accepting clothing or shoes. New West has given SO MUCH!! 💜 Please continue to give $$. E-transfer admin@newwestnh.ca

Hey #NewWest. The call went out; you delivered! Thank you! The volume of donations at Kelvin is a bit overwhelming & they need to pause taking more in until the Neighbourhood House volunteers can organize, sort, & start distributing it all. Gift cards & monetary donations still appreciated!

One of the best ways to deal with a gaslighter is to refuse to engage. That includes engaging with and sharing media content that's showcasing their gaslighting. Engaging also perpetuates the action - media clings to stories and draws them out until enough people stop engaging. So don't engage.

Today is my birthday and the day Poppy came home, so naturally my gifts were double-wrapped in tissue paper and placed inside boxes lined with tissue paper. Poppy is in tissue heaven, and I now have a new object to display alongside my other bathroom flamingo decor 😜

A smiling avocado - apparently ignorant to the flesh wound exposing its innards and refusing to question where its other half has gone - is wearing a white floral lei and clutching a drink with its right hand, its left hand is holding the neck of the flamingo pool floatie that it is sitting inside with its little avocado legs dangling off the edge.

We finally got the opportunity to bring some donations up to New To You thrift store. We didn't know they weren't taking donations right now but they kindly accepted them anyway - I'm pretty sure mum walked out with at least the same number of books we dropped off 😄 I miss having them in Sapperton!
