I am that guy. You probably know me from that thing that one time.
You shut your mouth! How can you say I go about things the wrong way? I am human and I need to be loved just like everyone does.
I spoke with 10 CNNers about David Ellison's essay in The NYT, in which he tried to convince the public he'll be a good steward of CNN. Suffice to say, no one at the network is buying what he's selling. “We all have eyes and ears and see what’s happening at CBS." www.status.news/p/david-elli...
The Ellison Credibility Crisis
The Paramount boss tried to convince the public he can be trusted with CNN. But staffers inside the network torched his Times essay in brutal comments to Status, pointing to his disastrous record at C...

Played guitar for the first time in over a week. I basically play until I lose my pick anymore. I have more picks but the point where I lose one and can’t immediately find it again is a good sign that I should stop. So glad I have a guitar again. It is just relaxing to noodle around.
I've not seen this mentioned elsewhere and wanted to surface it — Cornyn and Tillis both signed off on a letter dated July 15 that urged Blanche to use the DOJ’s might to “stop the abortion industry’s unlawful and unsafe mail-order abortion drug practice.” talkingpointsmemo.com/where-things...
If you want to know how Flock got so big so fast in Illinois, look no further than our sitting Attorney General (who refused to comment for this story!):
Eyes on the heartland
A vast network of new license plate cameras has exploded across Illinois in recent years—paid for by state grants to fight retail crime. With the federal government clamoring for more information on p...

I don't know if everywhere has this but the Amazon drivers here have these synthetic collapsable crate things that they fill with packages and drag around. Every time I see them I wonder if Jeff Bezos gets off watching his slaves drag around heavy stuff all day?
You know modern tech has made people feel like they always need to be available and reply quickly. We need to get back to making people wait again. Ignore that phone call or text. Get back someone when you feel like it. Make people wait again.
This is agent #7880, who we've become quite familiar with in immigration court & other videos like this around the Chicago area. He was also the agent giving orders at Broadview on Sept 26 last year, when his agents shot my reporting partner in the face w/a pepperball.
Yesterday prominent Chicagoland ICE observers shared video online depicting 2 federal agents approaching observers with weapons in hand, threatening arrest. The same video shows an agent using a vehicle to box in the observers' car, and another agent asking why the observers are blocking the road.
Fuck off coward. To quote a great American, "Go eat a dead dog's dick."
Cornyn justifies his support for Blanche: "That's one of those things that can't be remedied by a 'no' vote"
This fucking doofus. "Please let us buy the thing we want to ruin before we can't afford it!" Fuck off. We need less conglomeration and you wealthy fucks need less money and levers of power.

I was thinking today about how different things could have been had Letterman was given the Tonight Show instead of Leno.
Got tired of not having a decent audio player for MacOS so I installed WACUP via Crossover.
I'll see it opening day as a big fuck you to David Zaslav and WB for trying to shelf this for a tax return, seriously Ketchup Entertainment could use every bit of support possible to ensure the biggest fuck you possible
He cites users' ability to mute & block folks as a positive, which is good. It's also why right wing chuds thankfully can't get a foothold here - b/c they violate community norms & get nuclear blocked out of normal people's timelines. Bluesky isn't a *liberal* bubble - it's a *decency* bubble.
Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."
🔥“Fetterman/Carville threaten to leave the party? They’re sweetening the deal! Why does anyone still listen to Carville? He said 1 smart thing he seems to have forgotten.” @abdulelsayed.bsky.social & Hasan say Michigan is only in play for Republicans BECAUSE of NAFTA/Clinton/Carville
Reckless police nearly kill a family is the correct headline.
Several people were injured, including three Chicago police officers and a young child, when an unmarked squad car collided with a white sedan late Sunday night on the city’s South Side, according to police.
The book Inside UPA is a visual tour of one of the greatest animation studios of all time. With its author's permission, we've shared the whole thing online for free. Our latest issue dives into the book and UPA's place in animation history: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/stepping-i...
It is quite disturbing how many people don’t own a box cutter. Like we all get tons of stuff shipped in boxes now. Stop using a pair of scissors and get a decent box cutter. They aren’t expensive.

This is all completely no go for me. Starting with "mayor is a career ender". You are telling me that there is no way to do a good enough job as Mayor of Chicago that you can't go to higher office? I don't believe that and if he can't that my expectations are below the floor.

It really is remarkable how easily boomers got brain poisoned worldwide via online garbage.
Honestly this is going to have to be the future. The ONLY way we are going to have better things or solutions to problems is for communities to just do it themselves. Government has failed us time and time again.
The DSA in Wilmingotn, N.C. has created a "crisis" by putting benches at city bus stops, after literal decades of the city promising and failing to do so.
