this. indies have an empowered audience vs big industry players. Empowering labor (cast and crew) is how you get industry to play fairly and invest in broader and more stories under better working conditions rather than rehash and budget tricks forever.

BildHowdy. Uhh.... Thank you so much everyone for your kindness and helping us push to 100% funded for episode 2. I meant to share this yesterday. But... yeah just... thank you. I have a video version of this as well haha, but it’s long so writing it for certain websites. But yeah thank you. Telling this story about a bi black girl in the midwest... being loved.. and having her own fantasy adventure. it’s a dream. in a time when it’s so hostile to black, brown and queer stories... i feel so blessed to be able to do this with my team. i’m happy that working on the pilot has been fun and healing for those who helped out on that. I’m grateful to those who when i was sad.. supported me and lifted me back up. i just ... i keep repeating it but i couldn’t have done this without support from others. the kindness of everyone who pledged, supported with shares, or even just emotionally.... thank you. my dear friends...my family... my husband being my strongest supporter...Thank you. Just thank you truly. The three tomes is a story that has been healing for me personally, it reflects what i would have wanted to see as a young black nerdy teen.. who didn’t feel seen at all. I hope that this story can make others feel seen. black folks can be whimsical, magical, queer in their own way and loved. thank you, and let’s rise towards those stretch goals. thank you. thank you so much - bre
